Niti, servire, neque cedere.
To strive, to serve and not to yield.
The curriculum offered is one which allows for continuous assessment which is the main focus of the National Assessment Programme (N.A.P.). This is a six year programme which culminates in the children sitting the Grade Six Achievement Test (G.S.A.T.). This is a placement exam, which allows the child to enter the second level of education.
As well as providing all subjects necessary to complete the G.S.A.T., Knox Junior School also offers extra subjects such as Dance, Computer Education, and Spanish.
Children who experience challenges in reading are usually given some extra help on an individual basis.
Entry Requirements
Knox Junior School accepts children from the age of 3 years. We believe in building a firm, physical and moral educational foundation. Once the foundation is firmly built, this will give way to the growth and development of a well adjusted child. Knox Junior School has always focused on the wholistic development of the very young. Therefore, for 3-5 years old, their education is based on the Ministry of Education curriculum. They are also exposed to Physical Education, Dance, Spanish, Computer Studies and Music.
Foreign Languages
With regards to foreign languages, Spanish is taught from ages three to eleven years old. At Knox Junior School the children are tested internally on a continuous basis. They are required to sit a test in all subject areas at the end of each term. Consequently, parents will receive a report at the end of each term, detailing the progress of their children.
